Dennis R. Field, 69, of Tolland, CT, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lowell, VT, son of the late Marshall Field and Lydia (Faucher) Hamel. Dennis retired after 39 years from United Technologies – Pratt and Whitney Aircraft having worked in process planning and as a machinist. He enjoyed his family and friends, Red Sox baseball, his retirement, and his trips to the Casino and Dunkin Donuts. He loved the celebration of life, always had a smile on his face, and was a very kind and gentle man. Dennis is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 46 years, Patricia "Pat" D. (Veilleux) Field; two sons, Kevin R. Field and his companion Meli Currie of Boston, MA, and Marc R. Field of Hillsborough, NC; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Emmanuel and Shirley Field, Leonard and Sally Field, and Reginald and Theresa Field, all of New Hampshire; in-law, George and Theresa Murphy of New Hampshire, Gaytan and Linda Veilleux of Vermont, and Richard and Donald Veilleux of Vermont; and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, whom he loved very deeply. His funeral will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014, with a procession forming by 9 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Matthew Church, 111 Tolland Green, Tolland, CT. Burial will follow in South Cemetery, Tolland, CT. Calling hours are on Friday from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
