Anthony A. DeNunzio, 55, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Johnson Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Hartford, CT, son of the late Albert A. and Shirley (Butler) DeNunzio. Tony fell victim to paralysis in 1984, but continued to live his life to its fullest. He was a friend to many in the community, in return who supported him throughout this time. The family would like to thank his many friends and caretakers for their dedication to his well being, especially the Johnson Memorial Hospital ICU physicians and staff. Tony is survived by his three children, Anthony A. DeNunzio, Jr. and his wife Mary, Nicholas J. DeNunzio and his companion Deanna Stelzer, and Jennifer Wood and her husband Tom; five grandchildren, Courtney, Makenna, Nicholas, Jr., Sarah, and Adam; three sisters, Zenna Brisson and her husband Wally, Donna Possardt and her fiancé Jerry Joyal, and Denise Hicking and her husband David; his special nephew and caretaker, Bill Utermarck; and several other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 10 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Tuesday from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Anthony A.
